You'll develop and coordinate impactful programs, including study groups, academic partnerships, workshops, and mentoring opportunities. Your role involves creating and executing strategies to enhance student access, engagement, and retention, while also providing academic and career advising. By working closely with students, campus resources, and community partners, you'll help close achievement gaps and promote success for all students. In this role, you'll use a student-centered and equity-focused approach, championing diversity and inclusivity in all your initiatives. Your commitment to supporting the academic success of students from various backgrounds will drive the quality of campus life at CSULB. Your efforts will ensure that all students receive the resources and services needed to thrive academically and personally. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is: $60,300 - $68,000. What you will be doing: Lead and Innovate: Drive the MSI program to enhance access, engagement, and retention for male students from historically disenfranchised backgrounds. Program Development: Design and implement study groups, workshops, retreats, and mentoring programs tailored to student needs. Academic and Career Support: Provide one-on-one advising, career coaching, and financial literacy workshops to help students thrive academically and professionally. Collaboration and Outreach: Partner with campus organizations and community groups to broaden MSI's impact and visibility. Data and Assessment: Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, track student progress, and present findings to stakeholders. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree with coursework in counseling, human relations, or related fields. Experience: 3 years in student services, preferably with male students of color; experience in academic advising, counseling, and career planning. Communication: Strong oral and written skills; ability to interact with diverse populations and resolve conflicts. Organization: Proven ability to manage multiple projects, organize events, and develop programs. Data Management: Experience with assessment, reporting, and using databases like PeopleSoft and EAB. Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe; experience with website and social media updates. Additional Requirements: Driver’s License: CA Driver's License required. Commitment: Strong dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Interpersonal: Ability to work independently and as part of a team; flexibility in handling various tasks and pressures. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree preferably in student affairs, higher education administration, college student personnel, social work, counseling, or a related field. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Contribute and html would be a plus.
